Martin (DICE) has jointly created resources to promote the work of the Champion for disabled children and young people – Birmingham.
Martin has also worked with the Champion to facilitate and deliver consultation sessions with disabled children and young people around Short Breaks, and the inclusion of disabled children and young people views in the strategic plans for Birmingham Local Authority.
The quality of work supplied by Martin is of a consistent and high quality. Martin works in partnership to ensure that all key objectives and outcomes of the work is achieved in a timely fashion. His skills and knowledge of inclusion, engagement and participation has without a doubt enabled the success of these two areas of work. Independent Children's Rights Visits

Independent children’s rights visits support children and young people to become aware of their rights and supports organisations to independently monitor responsibilities towards meeting children’s rights. Feedback in the form of action plans are provided to the organisation to support them to achieve and further develop responsive services that effectively support children and young people
 

Visiting Advocacy will be provided through a consistent advocate who builds a relationship with young people in the home. The visiting advocate can visit young people at the home to communicate with young people about issues that they are experiencing, support children to understand about their rights and observe settings from a children’s rights perspective. Creative and person centred approaches will be utilised with non-directive/ representative approaches to enable advocates to engage with the child or young person, especially with severe, profound and complex needs. We can additionally support with young person reviews, young person meetings, young person’s involvement in planning through person centred planning approaches, young people’s involvement in the organisation or care home through instructed and non-instructed advocacy and guidance in enabling children’s rights.
